In 1997, Harald Kuhnle bought the grounds of the former VEB Schiffswerft Rechlin.

The area contained concrete halls that had seen better days, chic office buildings from the 70s, a renovated toilet and a nuclear bunker.

Today, the Hafendorf Müritz attracts thousands of visitors who set sail here on a houseboat or enjoy their holiday in one of the quietly located flats every year. There is also a camping car marina and the Weiße Flotte Müritz also sails to the Hafendorf.
